Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the National Herald case.

Earlier on Monday, Mr. Gandhi on Monday led a mega ‘Satyagraha’ march to the Enforcement Directorate offices in Delhi, after some Congress workers were detained outside the party headquarters in the national capital.

Several Congress workers and leaders were protesting near the party central offices, against what they believed to be a personal vendetta by the Narendra Modi-led BJP government by misusing central probe agencies.

Senior Congress leaders including P Chidambaram, Digvijaya Singh, Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel took part in the protests. Senior leaders such as KC Venugopal, Harish Rawat and other Congress leaders were detained at Delhi’ s Tughlaq Road police station, and were met by Priyanka Vadra.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the ‘satyagraha‘ will continue despite lack of police permissions.

Security has been beefed up near the ED office. even as the BJP hit back at the demonstrations, calling them a ‘fake satyagraha‘.

‘Congress leaders have taken to the streets to pressurize an investigating agency openly because their corruption has been exposed…It’s an attempt to protect the assets of the Gandhi family’ BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani said.
